Focus and Resolutions

Hey there!

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I haven’t put up a blog post in the few months this site has been active. Every time I went to type something, it just felt not “important” enough to be my first post to be sent out into the void. It played on my anxiety and I just avoided thinking about it altogether.

Well, with the new year, I’ve decided there’s no better time to start!

I won’t waste any space in this blog post with introductions, you’ve gotten all that in my “About” section. I’ll get right to the point…

Have I procrastinated long enough?

I’ve finally decided, almost a month into the new year, what my yearly resolutions are. (And I’m already on track for the first month!) It will basically be to write more, but it will be more focused than that. First, I’m going to be writing at least two chapters of any WIP novel I currently have started, monthly. Second, I’m going to write at least one short story each month. (So throw some prompts at me!) Third and last, I’ll be writing at least one blog post per month.

It’s taken some time to think about exactly how I wanted to focus my blog so it has some sort of consistency. I’ve decided, for now, it will be focused on the art of self-publishing. I might throw in some personal posts here and there (like this one), but with most of my posts, I’ll strive to be a valuable resource to any author wanting to wade into the self-publishing waters.

Well, it’s late (I have a tendency to do things spontaneously, so bear with me!) and that’s about all I have to say on this topic.

Happy Writing!

Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs
and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Sorry for getting off-topic but I had
    to ask!

Aw, this was a very nice post. Taking the time and
actual effort to produce a top notch article… but what can I say… I procrastinate
a lot and never manage to get nearly anything done.

Hi are using WordPress for your site platform? I’m new to the blog world but
I’m trying to get started and create my own. Do you need any html
coding expertise to make your own blog? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, I am using WordPress. It’s fairly simple without any expertise, and there are tons of tutorials about how to fix up your site even more using HTML and CSS.

Good day! I know this is somewhat off topic
but I was wondering if you knew where I could get a captcha plugin for my
comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as
yours and I’m having trouble finding one? Thanks a lot!

    • Michelle says:

I apologize, but I’m not quite sure about the Captcha thing. It was just automatically there when I activated the comments option.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell
and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!

Have you ever thought about writing an ebook or guest authoring on other blogs?
I have a blog based on the same information you discuss and
would really like to have you share some stories/information. I know my
visitors would enjoy your work. If you are
even remotely interested, feel free to send me an e mail.
